Helps regulate appetite, reduce hunger, and support weight loss and metabolic health.
Effective weight management involves more than prescribing a GLP-1 medication. Fountain clinicians evaluate your medical history, weight-related health risks, nutritional needs, and treatment goals before recommending semaglutide, tirzepatide, or another approach. As treatment progresses, we monitor response, tolerability, and changes in weight, while addressing nutrition, physical activity, and muscle preservation. Dosing and longer-term plans can be adjusted as your needs change, with attention to maintaining results beyond initial weight loss.

Your questions about our weight management programs answered.
There is no single medication that is best for everyone. Your clinician considers your health history, weight and metabolic goals, previous treatments, medications, appetite patterns, side-effect risk, and other relevant factors before recommending an approach. When medications such as semaglutide or tirzepatide are being considered, the decision is based on the individual rather than simply choosing the medication associated with the greatest average weight loss.
No. The goal is to improve body composition and metabolic health while protecting muscle, strength, nutrition, and long-term function. Weight loss that comes primarily at the expense of lean muscle is not the outcome we are trying to create. Fountain therefore considers nutrition, protein intake, resistance training, body composition, sleep, and other metabolic factors alongside medication. The number on the scale is only one part of the picture.
Medication is only one part of Fountain’s weight-management program. Patients can work with a registered dietitian nutritionist to build a nutrition plan around protein intake, meal quality, appetite changes, side effects, and long-term weight maintenance. We also have a certified personal trainer who can help with resistance training, strength, and preserving muscle during weight loss. This is especially important with GLP-1 treatment, where the goal is not simply to lose weight, but to improve body composition while maintaining strength, muscle, and overall health.
A plateau does not automatically mean that the medication has stopped working. Your clinician may review your dose, nutrition, activity, body composition, sleep, medications, metabolic health, and how your weight has changed over time before deciding whether anything needs to change. Rather than automatically increasing the dose, Fountain looks at the broader picture to understand what may be driving the plateau.
Reaching a goal weight is not the end of the treatment plan. Your clinician will work with you on maintaining the progress you have made, including nutrition, exercise, body composition, metabolic health, and whether medication should be continued, adjusted, or eventually discontinued. The long-term goal is sustainable health and weight maintenance, not simply reaching the lowest possible number on the scale.
Fountain looks at more than weight alone. Depending on your treatment plan, monitoring may include symptoms, side effects, laboratory testing, body composition, nutrition, strength, metabolic markers, and changes in weight over time. This helps your clinician determine whether treatment is producing the type of progress you actually want, not simply whether the scale is moving.
